We combine accounting, management and marketing with a touch of computer technology to provide you with the skills most valued in the business sector. Requirements can be found in the Course Catalog, or in the College of Business and Economics listing of minors and certificates. Individuals wishing to deepen their knowledge with post-baccalaureate studies can complete an advanced degree in business online or on campus through the sellmarketresearch UW-Whitewater Master of Business Administration and one of 12 unique emphases. What Is General Business?
Explores the relationship of law, government and ethics to business enterprise. Provides overview of legal and ethical issues relevant to business decision-making and planning and the government regulations of business. Graduates will be able to use computer and information technology in solving problems and perform functions commonly seen in managing businesses and other organizations. 9 Total Hours31-37 Please note that not all of the GEF courses are offered at all campuses. The BBA in General Business provides students with valuable skills that are the foundation for a successful career as an entrepreneur or as part of a corporation, small business, or family business. The Business - General program is specifically designed to prepare students to transfer to a four-year business school. The program allows students to transfer to a variety of business programs, including Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Management, or other business areas. It provides the fundamental knowledge necessary to be a successful business student with the ultimate goal of graduation from a business transfer institution and finding employment in the business field. Eligible Missouri State undergraduate students in the College of Business may apply for admission to the Cybersecurity program and begin taking graduate course work as they complete the work for a bachelor’s degree. A maximum of six hours of graduate credit may be counted toward both the undergraduate and graduate degree .

Students must also complete 9 units of upper division General Education and a total of 120 units for the degree. Students receive a broad and generalized understanding of the function of business and how the various sub-disciplines of business interact to contribute to the success of an organization. Students select courses across all business sub-disciplines, obtaining an understanding of the field of business. Courses are selected within a particular sub-discipline to develop specialized knowledge of a particular area of business. Positions available to graduates with a General Business major are those that require a broad, overarching understanding of the business function, rather than a specialized knowledge within a particular business sub-discipline.
Our expert instructors will introduce students to all the functional areas of business, the quantitative aspects of decision-making and the behavioral factors common to all organizational structures. This course first provides a comprehensive survey of the ethical issues challenging professional and corporate conduct in today's business world. Students will learn about the esports market as a sub-set of the larger gaming industry. The course will explore the different roles of the developer, publisher, esports organizations, and the esports teams, what kinds of investments are relevant to each of those stakeholders, and what their financial concerns are.
General Business
A minimum of 120 credit hours are required to earn the Bachelor of Business Administration General Business Major. The selection of one of two tracks is also required and students must complete 33 credit hours of 300 or 400 level courses to satisfy the General Business Major required electives. The On-Campus Track provides a specific and flexible business educational experience. A minor in business provides non-business majors with the professional skills necessary for positions in business and industry.
This major is intended for business students who wish to gain breadth in skills and knowledge within their undergraduate studies. It is particularly appropriate for students who wish to combine a study of business with a minor or extended coursework in a non-business field. The general business major is also suitable for students who intend to pursue a specialized master’s degree in business or who are interested in law school or other professional fields.
